Couples Counselling & Relationship Therapy

This is an LGBTQIA+ friendly, neurodivergent-affirming space, welcoming all relationship structures and cultural backgrounds. Our approach is integrative and evidence-based, tailored to your relationship and your goals. We understand that starting therapy with a partner (or partners) can feel vulnerable.

We do our best to create a space where you and your partner(s) can explore your connection openly, working toward building strong, lasting relationships together.

Our Approach

Relationships take work, and sometimes we all need support to navigate and build them well.

People come to couples therapy for many reasons, including:

  • Communication breakdowns

  • Rebuilding trust

  • Navigating a big life transition

  • Wanting to feel more connected

  • Deepening intimacy or making a big decision together

We also work with many couples navigating neurodivergent dynamics, whether both partners are neurodivergent or one partner has a neurodivergent brain style and the other is neurotypical. This can bring its own considerations, such as communication differences, differing sensory or social needs, and understanding each other's emotional regulation styles.

Our approach is integrative, drawing on evidence-based approaches alongside family systems and attachment theory to understand you both as individuals and as a couple. We also bring a strong somatic focus, weaving in somatic experiencing to help you connect with what's happening in the body, not just the mind, as you work through things together.

Your relationship doesn't need to be in crisis for any of this to apply. Sometimes it's simply about deepening intimacy, building understanding, or making a big decision together with the right support in your corner.

Meet Tara

A lot of Tara's work with couples first grew out of her existing one-on-one therapy clients, many of whom were experiencing relational distress and wanted to bring their partner into the process too. This sparked a passion for supporting couples and relationships, and today Tara is especially drawn to working with people navigating relational distress and the specific challenges that can come up between partners.
