One Team. One Plan. Your OT and Psych, all in one place." — bold maroon text on a cream background, with pastel yellow, pink, and green decorative accent shapes.

Navigating support for ADHD or Autism can already feel like a lot, and for many people, the hardest part isn't the diagnosis itself. It's everything that comes after. Finding the right providers, explaining your story again and again, and trying to keep track of who's doing what, all while managing your own life alongside it.

Support that's fragmented can feel exhausting

Repeating your story to a new provider every few months. Working out budgets across multiple providers in different locations. Trying to coordinate it all yourself, on top of everything else going on. If this sounds familiar, you're not alone, and it's not a personal failing. It's simply how disconnected support systems tend to work.

That's why we love that we can provide support all in one place

At Very Helpful Chats, your assessor, psychologist, and occupational therapist are all under the one (telehealth) roof. That means your support team and your goals stay connected, and nothing gets lost along the way. Instead of juggling separate providers who don't talk to each other, you have one team who already understands your history, your goals, and what's worked (or hasn't) so far.

From your initial assessment, through to an NDIS application if that's part of your journey, and on to ongoing OT or psychology support, we've got you covered every step of the way.

What this looks like in practice

There's no one right place to start, and your journey with us can take whatever shape makes sense for you. For some, that looks like beginning with an initial assessment to better understand your (or your child's) needs, then moving into an NDIS application if that's relevant, and on to ongoing OT or psychology sessions, all working toward the same goals identified from the start.

For others, it might begin with therapy first, with an assessment coming later down the track, followed by an NDIS application and ongoing NDIS supported sessions. Wherever you come in, your team and your plan stay connected around you, so nothing has to start from scratch.

We support individuals and families across Australia

Wherever you're based, our telehealth model means location isn't a barrier to getting the right support. Whether you're a child, teen, or adult, navigating a new diagnosis, an NDIS journey, or simply looking for a team that gets it, we're here for you.

How do I access support?

Support can be accessed a few different ways, depending on your situation. This might be through:

  • Medicare: via a Mental Health Care Plan for sessions with one of our psychologists, or a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan which can also be used for Psychology sessions as well as OT sessions.

  • NDIS Funding: Sessions can also be accessed through NDIS funding, if you have a plan in place or are working toward one.

  • Private health insurance: can also help cover some sessions, depending on your level of cover.

  • Paying 100% privatley: You are welcome to access support privatley, you do not need a referral of any kind to access supports this way.

If you're not sure which pathway suits you, our team is happy to help you work out what fits, so you can get the right plan sorted with your GP.

Common questions we get asked

Do I need a referral to get started? It depends on the pathway you're accessing. A referral is generally needed for Medicare rebated sessions, but our team can guide you through exactly what's needed based on your situation.

Can my whole family be supported at Very Helpful Chats? Yes. We work with children, teens, and adults, and it's common for us to support multiple family members, whether that's a parent and child both accessing support, or siblings navigating their own individual journeys. To protect everyone's confidentiality, family members typically see different clinicians within our team rather than sharing the same one, but your overall care can still feel joined up and connected.

What if I'm not sure exactly what I need yet? That's completely okay, and very common. Part of what we do is help you work out what kind of support actually fits your goals, rather than expecting you to have it all mapped out before you reach out.

You don't have to have it all figured out

Starting the process of getting support can feel like the hardest part, especially if you're not sure exactly what you need or where to begin. You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out. That's what we're here to help with.
