Meagan Conway

Occupational Therapist

Hi, I'm Meagan! I am a neurodivergent Occupational Therapist (OT) who loves working with other neurodivergent people. My goal is to work with you to understand what activities are important to you, and what is getting in the way - so we can start working towards you living a meaningful and purposeful life – whatever that means to you. I find joy in helping clients realise their strengths and start kicking some goals – sometimes ones they didn’t know they were capable of! Through assisting you to understand how you work best, adapting everyday tasks to meet your needs, and providing you with support for your sensory and executive functioning needs, I aim to help you build a toolbox of skills and strategies - so you can start feeling confident that you can manage what life throws at you.

For more information on how OTs can help, please check out our occupational therapy page.

How I want to help you

Whether you were confirmed neurodivergent in childhood, or grew up unaware of your neurodivergence and found out as a teen or adult, I am here to support you. You might not feel that you fit in with other people, or perhaps you feel sensitive to criticism at work and are exhausted by the things that seem 'easy' for everyone else. After a full day of work, you might not feel like you have the energy left to cook a full meal or do the housework, let alone try to fit in socialising or extracurricular activities! Your overwhelm is valid! You are navigating many life things and have a brain wired differently to what the world caters for. But, with the right support and adjustments, it is possible to feel more balanced with everyday demands.

I can provide you with more knowledge of your neurodivergence, strategies to manage sensory overload, and tools for executive functioning to help adapt your environment so you are working with your strengths. I am here to supply you with tricks and tips for managing everyday tasks at home and skills to complete household tasks and will help you identify your strengths, teach you to advocate for yourself and put strategies in place to make life just that bit easier!

More about Meagan

Home state: NSW

My eye sparkles and SpIns (special interests) include:

  • Nature/gardening - Sitting by a river or in my garden makes me happy! I grow snapdragons, daffodils and lavender, and hope to expand my garden one day!

  • Birds, especially Tweety bird. I have a large collection of Tweety things, from pillows to clothes to pictures, and also own two budgerigars which I adore.

  • Theology - I have a passion for Biblical history and love diving into books to learn more about my faith.

  • My other main hobby is soccer - I follow the Matildas and have played for many years.

  • I also love planning social dates with my friends and my daughter in my free time, and love creating events, outings, meals and cards for them (Pinterest is huge go-to for me, I tend to change my passion for different new ideas frequently!)

Fees

  • The standard consultation fee for a 50-minute appointment with Meagan is $200. This applies to all clients, including privately paying clients, clients using Medicare or private health insurance and NDIS clients who are self-managed.

  • Fees for NDIS plan-managed clients are as per the NDIS price guide for occupational therapists.

  • If you have a valid referral, Medicare rebates are available for appointments with Meagan under a Chronic Disease management Plan. A rebate means you pay the full fee first and then receive a portion of the fee back from Medicare.

  • Meagan is not able to see clients under a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan.

  • Private health insurance rebates are available, depending on your fund and level of cover.

  • You can read our Fees and Rebates page for more information.

Appointments

  • Meagan works with us on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

  • Meagan's wait list is estimated to be around 2 to 3 weeks. This is only a rough estimate, as our waitlists can be quite fluid, and sometimes there is movement, which means we might have unexpected appointments that pop up earlier than this.

  • While you are waiting, we encourage you to ask us to put you on Meagan's 'cancellation list' so we can contact you if there are any cancelled appointments we need to fill. This can help us get you into the earliest possible appointment.

  • By booking and attending an appointment with Very Helpful Chats, you agree to our Business Terms and Conditions that can be found on this page of our website.

  • Please click here to complete our waitlist and matching form. Our waitlist and matching form is designed to gather basic information about your needs to make sure we can offer you the service you need. This form also helps us match you with a clinician with the skills and experience to meet your needs.

  • Once we can offer you an appointment, we will send you a second intake form. This second intake form includes our full consent form, and we also request your credit card, debit card, or PayPal details. Rest assured that we take card security seriously, and your details are stored securely on our client management system, Halaxy. This security measure helps us prevent theft and fraud. No one at Very Helpful Chats will have access to your card details. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the security of your card details, we encourage you to read more about Halaxy's card security here: Halaxy Card Security FAQs
