Kubra Aydogan

Registered Psychologist

Hey there! I'm Kubra - and I work with kids, teens and young adults. Growing up neurodivergent can feel like you have been caught between two lands. There is the land of mainstream neurotypicalism - this land is made up of unspoken and confusing rules, uncomfortable clothes, and expectations about how you should move, speak, and look at other people (and for how long!).

Then there is the land of neurodivergency - your safe space where you can retreat to the safety of your interests, stims and natural ways of existing. In this land, you don't have to socialise until you're exhausted, you can wear only your comfy clothes, and you can move and speak in the ways that feel natural to you. I want to help you learn to navigate these two lands - and hopefully help you work out ways you can be more comfortable in foreign lands.

Here are some things that make me 'me'

Other people may describe me as...

The Land of Belonging

I aim to help neurodivergent kids, teens, and young adults better understand themselves and their brains and to be kinder to the parts of themselves they may struggle to accept. The land of mainstream neurotypicalism has so many expectations to 'fit in' or 'be normal' - these expectations and the judgement you are doing it 'wrong' can be really damaging to neurodivergent people. I don't believe in helping you to 'fit in' or 'act more normal'  - my goals are to help you find the right people and environments where you can truly belong. When you belong somewhere for who you truly are - you will no longer need to try and 'fit in' - you can just be yourself.

I'd love to work with you to explore your strengths, figure out what you value in life, and work out how we can get the people and systems in your life to support your needs - instead of always having to be the one expected to change. I want you to know what confidence feels like, and I'm passionate about creating a space where you can be proud of yourself exactly as you are! I would also love to help you develop the strategies and tools to handle the ups and downs of everyday life - whether that is family, friendships, school, uni or work.
