Kristel Stillman

(she/her)

Senior Psychologist

I am an experienced Psychologist providing affirming assessments of Autism and ADHD to the neurodivergent community. I am dedicated to working with Autistic and ADHD adults to understand your unique experiences and help you accept yourself – exactly as you are.

As a mum and partner to neurodivergent people, I have learnt how hard it is to navigate unsupportive schools and workplaces when you don’t fit the neurotypical template. Surrounding myself with many neurodivergent friends has also opened my eyes to how exhausting it is to mask your authentic self to try to fit into the mainstream.

Some of the things that make me 'me'

Autism + ADHD Assessments

I offer assessments of neurodiversity that focus on understanding and valuing your experience living in a society designed for neurotypical people. I treat all clients with empathy and acceptance and do not judge anyone for how they have learnt to cope with difficult or traumatic experiences. I am passionate about advocating for inclusion and increasing awareness that ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other neurodivergencies are not disorders to be “fixed” but natural differences to be valued.

Since becoming a psychologist, I have had diverse experience providing assessments and therapy to clients and providing training and supervision to early career health professionals. I particularly enjoy working with other parents to assist with the juggle of work, children and life, and young adults to assist them with the transition out of adolescence.

By the time we finish working together

I want you to:

  • Have an increased understanding of who you are and what makes you unique.

  • Understand that it is okay to prioritise your needs.

  • Be learning how to identify allies in neurotypical environments.

  • Appreciate the need to spend time connecting with your passions.

  • Be on your way to accepting your authentic self.

Here are 3 things I believe:

  1. There is no one 'right' way to do life - it's not a pre-set game.

  2. Animals are the best therapists.

  3. Imagination, daydreaming and creative outlets are worthy pursuits undervalued by society.
