Maddison Ciaralli

Registered Psychologist

Hiya!  I'm currently on extended leave and not taking new clients.

Some of the things that make me 'me':

Other people may describe me as:

What do you need?

If you’ve been struggling with life stuff, I’d love to help you out. I know that pressure and demands can build up and start feeling unmanageable and overwhelming. I have lived experience of autistic burnout and figuring out how to live within a society that is not conducive to our well-being. I’d love to work with you to find ways for you to be your true self and manage your life.

I would love to help you work out what you need in life - and then help you work out how to meet your needs. This may include learning to set better boundaries with other people (and sometimes yourself!) and developing skills in self-advocacy so you can protect your boundaries and ask for what you need!

Helping Autistic clients + spoonie* clients recover from burnout is one of my greatest motivations as a Psychologist. Together, we can figure out how to reduce demands on you and learn how to conserve energy so you can rest and recover. I meet my clients where they are on their journey, and I hold no expectations about your progress – life is not linear, and healing + recovery does not have a timeline.

I work with a range of clients exploring their identity - whether you’re neurodivergent or still trying to figure it out, or whether you're exploring questions of gender and sexuality - and the intersectionality between all of the above!

*A 'spoonie' means someone with chronic illness - from Christine Miserandrino's Spoon theory.

I want you to:

  • Understand what you need and how to ask for it.

  • Have a deeper understanding of who you are - your strengths, values and interests.

  • Hold yourself with kindness when you're having a hard time and to have learned to stop judging yourself negatively when you're having difficulties.

  • Feel comfortable within yourself - I want you to be able to drop the unnecessary demands, the expectations we inherit from our families and communities, and the habit of comparing yourself to others.

More about Maddison

Home state: Queensland

My eye sparkles and SpIns (special interests) include:

  • Animals - Specifically my two cats Oreo and Gidget!

  • The Ocean - I wanted to be a marine biologist for almost a decade (until I realised I had a paralysing fear of crustaceans and that being in the ocean sends me into sensory overload)

  • Music - Metalcore is my fave right now and I like to embody all of the angst from my teenage years when I listen to it

  • Games - I love cosy games or story-driven games where my decisions impact the story-line!

  • TTRPGs - I love the roleplaying elements and perpetually struggle with remembering game mechanics (lucky my friends are game mechanic nerds with never ending patience)

Fees

  • The standard consultation fee for a 50-minute appointment with Maddison is $225. This applies to all clients, including privately paying clients, clients using Medicare or private health insurance and NDIS clients who are self-managed.

  • Fees for NDIS plan-managed clients are as per the NDIS price guide in your state for psychologists.

  • Private health insurance rebates are available, depending on your fund and level of cover.

  • You can read our Fees and Rebates page for more information.

  • Maddison is on extended leave and we are not able to add clients to her waitlist.
